Design Direction: Soft Minimal

The third image in the series of room sets created by Six N.Five for FranklinTill is Soft Minimal: As urbanisation and the growth in single-person homes increases the concentration of housing, city dwellers are living more nomadic lifestyles in ever-smaller spaces. With micro apartments on the rise (some as small as 13 square metre) there is a demand for smart, flexible systems that adapt to our varied daily needs. Soft Minimal focuses on interiors and textiles that offer beautifully designed, functional, elegant essential solutions. Essentialism doesn’t equal minimalism. Comforting fabrics add a touch of warmth and personality to decluttered spaces. Wools, felts, linen and bouclé yarns lend themselves to comforting furnishings with brushed, tactile surfaces. A restrained colour palette of muted pastels and neutral shades, punctuated by matt black, evokes a timeless elegance that appeals to the sophisticated essentialist customer.
